National success for Tasmanian business again

Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees Limited ranked number 1 in Australian national corporate governance survey for second year running

Mr Mark Scanlon, Managing Director of Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees Limited (ASX:TPX) said today that the fact that the company had achieved the highest ranking possible in the 2007 BDO Kendalls Mid-Cap Corporate Governance report released today, reflected strongly on the dedication and skill of all Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees Limited?s (TPTL) staff.

“At TPTL we have successfully developed a culture of compliance, governance and disclosure that we are proud of and to be recognised nationally as the top company in our sector again is something that all staff take pride in,” Mr Scanlon said.

The BDO Kendalls Mid-Cap Corporate Governance report is independently compiled by The University of Newcastle Associate Professor Jim Psaros, and is based on the 2006 annual report disclosures of the 150 largest ?mid-sized? Australian listed companies (ASX 251-400) by market capitalisation at 31 December 2006.
